How did this all get started?
Well to be fair, most of us have forgotten how this got going. Suffice to say there were heated Zoom calls, late night clandestine meetings, and not an insignificant number of support beverages consumed over the course of 4 months.
What resulted was a fully fleshed out action plan. Simply stated.
Let’s go diving.
Did you know?
The RSSC traces its roots to 1957, when the first 'Regina Skin Divers' (Club) was formed.
The late 1970s marked the beginning of the organization’s true heyday, which had become the Regina Skin and Scuba Club. As membership rose to more than 80 parents and children, the RSSC offered training in skin diving and scuba diving. The club’s strong underwater hockey team hosted and participated in tournaments at the provincial and national level. Regular dive trips saw RSSC members diving at Lovering Lake, Lake Diefenbaker, Manitoba’s East Blue and West Hawk Lakes, as well as Lake Minnewanka near Banff. Club fundraising efforts combined with social activities to include bowling nights, Molson Party evenings, movie presentations, Halloween Dances and the annual award of an underwater pumpkin trophy until 2000.
Today’s RSSC is proud to continue on the path first blazed by Regina’s diving pioneers as we strive to grow our local scuba and snorkeling community.
